Dieroll ATL Control Sample

This page is just like the original dieroll sample, except that the control here was built with the Active Template Library rather than with MFC. See that page for instructions on how to use the sample, and for discussion of the scripts. Don't forget, we have also developed the same dieroll as a Java applet, and summarized the issues in the decision between a Java applet and an ActiveX control, and in choosing how to build an ActiveX control.

The details of how to build this control with the Active Template Library are in Kate's latest book, Special Edition Using Visual C++ 5.0. If you don't have the book, you can have the source code, but this page won't teach you how to build it yourself. We will keep this page up to date and as time goes by the control presented here may change from the one that came with the book.

Note: You must be using Visual C++ 5.0 to use this sample code. Older versions of Visual C++ will not be able to open the project.

See our other resources list for further information on these topics.
